A Life in Bloom: Living With Intention

A space for reflection, creativity, and the everyday moments that shape us.

Shared month by month, this is a gentle record of life as it unfolds — with more awareness, more intention, and a deeper appreciation for the small, meaningful things.

Colorful framed artwork with abstract shapes, flowers, and animals in vibrant reds, blues, yellows, and pinks. Light wooden frame.
A Life in Bloom Tapestry Art Print

I’m Lou Jane — illustrator, designer, and founder of Edenwilde.

I began this creative path when my son was just two years old, creating in the quiet pockets of nap time while my daughter was at preschool. The intention was simple: to create a piece of art within a nap time. That rhythm shaped everything — and naturally led to a style that feels minimal, bold, and at its essence. Full of colour, and an exploration of shape.

As my children grew, so did Edenwilde.

What began with original paintings slowly expanded into greeting cards, art prints, and a full stationery range. I had a space in a collective store in Kiama, NSW while my children were young, before moving back to Melbourne. From there came market stalls at Rose Street, then The Big Design Market, The Makers and Shakers Market and Finders Keepers. As the business grew, so did the reach — trade shows, stockists across Australia, and beyond into New Zealand and the USA.

And through all of it, I’ve been working other jobs too — alongside my most important role of all, being mum to my two beautiful kiddos. And most recently that is a role I do all on my own as a solo parent.

Creativity is what keeps me going. Creating, and sharing that work with the world, is what makes me feel truly alive.

But somewhere along the way, I’ve realised how much I’ve been rushing — trying to do it all, holding everything at once, like so many women, and so many mothers do.

This space is a gentle reminder.

For me — and maybe for you too — to slow down.
